ENERGY CALENDAR

Dear fellow citizens, we would like to present to you another project that we have successfully worked on in the past months. The Energy Calendar project is funded by the Provincial Secretariat for Sport and Youth. Our goal was to inform high school students and work on increasing their awareness of alternative energy sources and environmental protection, by enriching current youth education programs and content. The initial phase of the project was the extraction of text and photographs for all significant dates of each month of the next year or the world-significant dates of the topic already mentioned, as well as energy discoveries. Afterwards, we contacted the schools and scheduled dates in the last week of November to share the calendar. In order to raise awareness of the topic, we distributed 1000 calendars to high school students, high schools, and gymnasiums, where we briefed the youth with the presentation about the importance and use of alternative, renewable energy sources in relation to conventional sources. We also encouraged them to think about energy savings and the importance of youth activism towards sustainable development that we should all strive for. First we visited The Vocational Secondary School in Novi Sad, and then the three high schools: “Laza Kostic”, “Isidora Sekulic” and “Svetozar Markovic”. In the following days, we also visited the students of the Electrical Engineering School “Mihajlo Pupin” and the Medical School “7. April ”, where we introduced the project to about 130 students. The project has received positive comments, and we have also received calls from other high schools in Novi Sad and the surrounding areas to present the Energy Calendar.
