Eco food

Since the founding of the NGO in 2013, a humanitarian action has begun, which has grown into a project at the city level of Novi Sad. Socially useful work is an idea that, in addition to ideas related to ecology and environmental protection, is an advocate of the NGO. We started with one part of the City of Novi Sad (Telep), to expand our operations to two more parts of the city (Adice and Detelinara).

What is the ECO FOOD project? Have you wondered how much food is thrown daily from restaurants, cafes, bakeries, canteens? The answer is not positive, MANY. For this reason, we have decided to cooperate with the mentioned catering establishments, restaurants, bakeries and people of good will, to help the citizens of the neighborhood who we know are hard to live with, to help with that basic, the food. We supply about 40 people every day with at least one meal. We are often asked how we choose people. Honestly, we do not choose, there is no selection, it is enough to pay attention to our neighborhood and we already have someone to help.

Also, we are informed by friends who are informed about our work to inform us who needs this type of help, and on the other hand, it happens that families, we already know, who live on the edge do not want to accept help. People don’t want help sometimes, but there are many who embrace it. What they still ask us is why are you doing this? In addition to the projects we write, this is a basic form of socially useful work, which takes half an hour a day to provide pleasure. This kind of activism contributes significantly to the social aspect of young people, to understand the environment in which they live in. Our half an hour a day means a meal to someone. Many friends and partners have helped us in this project, and some companies have been helping us from the beginning. Following the example of France passing a law in which they banned throwing a supermarket food, we are acting locally, to a lesser extent, but the importance of this project to our community is at the highest level.
