“Eco talk” is a project that developed from the member’s wish of the NGO “Zeleni Sad”, that should encourage the public, with an emphasis on young people, to become more interested in constant questioning environmental and ecological issues.
The project, supported by the City of Novi Sad, the City Administration for Sport and Youth, aims to record an educational show on a popular environmental problem in the city of Novi Sad, with the help of interested students. The direct involvement of young people in the creation and realization of the show encourages their interest and desire to contribute to the actions of preserving the quality of the environment, in a way that is acceptable to young people, i.e. through the media. The first step was an “online” competition for interested students of the University of Novi Sad to apply for the following positions: producer, director and editor, journalist, screenwriter, set designer and researcher in the field of the environmental protection and ecology, as well as those who want to motivate people to engage in research through surveys. After a week at a meeting on the premises of the association with participants, we discussed the burning topics in the city, and made a proposal with ten potential topics to vote on. The topic “Landfills and recycling” was selected. This was followed by the preparation of the concept for the show, inviting guests, choosing a suitable location and getting things for the recording of the show.
On November 1, 2018, the project “Eco Talk” has entered the final phase, we started filming the show in Park of Kamenica. The guests of the show were Dr. Snezana Maletić, Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection, Faculty of Science, Danijela Jankov, PR Manager of PUC “Purity”, and Vanja Petković, President of the “Cork to Smile” Association. We thank them again for taking the time to participate and be a part of (our) “eco talk”.
